Tiga Panah Advisory was founded by Jonathan Tanean, who came to Australia from Indonesia in 2013 to study at the University of Melbourne. Like many international students, Jonathan quickly realised that building a new life abroad meant learning more than just a new culture — it meant understanding an entirely different financial system.

From managing daily expenses as a student to lodging his first tax return after graduating, he faced the same challenges that many newcomers experience: confusion about tax rules, superannuation, and how to build wealth in an unfamiliar country.

Over the years, Jonathan built a career across Australia’s Big Four banks, leading Fintechs, and prominent finance brokerages, gaining deep expertise in financial accounting, tax, and wealth strategies. Along the way, he earned both the CPA and CFA® charters, as well as an MBA from Melbourne Business School, combining technical expertise with real-world understanding.

Tiga Panah Advisory was born from that journey — to bridge the gap between complex financial systems and the real experiences of migrants and new Australians.
